Adventures with G & C
I get bored of my hair SO EASILY. Like I've had brown, black, blue, blue black, red, regular ombre, purple you name it. The ombre fever was getting to me, I'd seen it on Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian and I just missed it. Therefore, I decided to buy some bleach and do it myself. I used the Jerome Russell bleach from Superdrug and it worked well on my ridiculously dark hair, lightening it up to a gingery colour which is where the irony of my story begins. I was aiming for an ash blonde that I could eventually turn lavender grey, I hated the ginger and in a late night blind panic tried to tone my hair with the smallest dot of semi permanent blue dye with TONS of conditioner. Please don't try this, although most of you would see why this is a stupid decision. This left me with patchy green hair.
Honestly I didn't hate it. It was bad but I'm really not attached to my hair so I was just rocking the patchy green and ginger hybrid - the ginger was a lot more prevalent in real life. I then used the Wella Color Fresh Silver Toner which I would actually recommend pretty highly for you blonde haired gals, it worked really well on my orangey green hair. However, the green was aggressive and did not want to get outta here. So I did what I should have done from the get go and went to a hairdressers.

They bleached my hair (adding my bleach count to four in a week) but still the green remained.
I'm not sure if you can see the traces of the pastel green but they wouldn't shift. At this point I was still striving for ash ombre. However we quickly realised it wasn't going to work so after having a chat I realised the only option was to go copper - the colour I was trying to avoid. However I'm sure a lot of you will know that red is opposite green on the colour wheel meaning they cancel each other out so I wasn't really left with many options. Like I said I'm not super attached or particularly bothered about my hair so I just said do whatever you want to!

I was so scared of having that ginger hair that comes with bleaching black hair as I don't think it looks particularly flattering and looks like it was an accident. I didn't have to worry as they gave me this gorgeous copper bright orange! It's so fiery and I feel like it fits my personality if hair can mirror personality. Overall out of my stupid decision (let me reiterate DO NOT USE BLUE DYE)I got hair I really love and will hopefully stick with for a while. Apologies for the selfie heavy post!

Products I used initially:
Jerome Russell B Blonde
Wella Color Fresh Toning Semi-Permanent
I'd recommend both but overall I would just go to your hairdressers. Grace and I both go to the local college salon, the girls are always lovely and pretty much qualified it's just much cheaper. To correct my hair, bleach it, colour it over SIX HOURS. It was only £15 so definitely check out college salons.

I'll answer any questions you have in comments! Let me know what you think of my copper ombre and look out for Grace's hair transformation soon.

-Charlotte

P.S. She may kill me for this but I found it so funny I have to share. While Grace was waiting with me over those tedious 6 hours, students used her as a hair model to practice bridal hair.
She looks like a beautiful My Little Pony or a precious brat from Toddlers and Tiaras. I LOVE IT.
I'm gonna go deep condition my hair now and watch Orange is the New Black,

My amazing mum surprised both Grace and I with an item from the Maleficent collection along with tickets to go see the film on Wednesday. I got the lipstick 'True Loves Kiss' and Grace got the lipglass 'Anthurium'.

The lipstick is a true red which oddly enough I don't have in my collection they all seem to be orangey or blue toned. The finish is amplified which is probably my favourite: opaque, creamy and long lasting. I love it! When I saw the packaging online I was a little so so about it but I actually love it reminds me of the Marilyn Monroe collection. It's comfortable to wear and makes me feel very attractive haha something about a red lip right?
Grace got the pro Longwear lipglass in Anthurium, a gorgeous orange red shade. When swatched this lipglass has super pigmented, opaque coverage and feels sticky but not unpleasant, I guess that means that it will wear for a long time on the lips! The scent is amazing and reminds me of cakes or sweets or something...
Grace has never owned a red lipgloss as her worst fear is it ending up a hot mess, however the pro Longwear formula is amazing and definitely stays put. This is such a beautiful shade and we're so excited to go and see the film on Wednesday, we'll be posting OOTDs and makeup looks so stayed tuned!

OOTD: Spiritual Retreat W/ Russell Brand

OOTD: Spiritual Retreat W/ Russell Brand by exploringwardrobes-1 featuring Lalique

So next on my celebrity lover list is Russell Brand. My love for Russell Brand has been nurtured since I was about 13, it's 25% his hair, 25% how funny he is, 25% his brain and 25% his bad boy turned spiritual guru image.

For this outfit I went with a much more boho vibe, I think the image we have of Russell now is much more chilled and spiritual than it has been in previous years (see Sun's Shagger of the Year Award.) I went with relaxed shapes and jewellery yet toughened it all up a bit with the black chunky boots. I feel like the jewellery is a must and chose pieces that reflected yoga (this is a fantasy rather than a real life choice) or an Asian inspired symbol. Tattoos have got to be in there, Russell has loads and I am anxiously awaiting my 18th birthday to start inking up. I threw in some Buddha's and mandalas to show the spirituality and the little cat reflects Russell's beloved cat Morrisey. I will forever come across as a stalker in these posts haha. For hair I don't think anything conveys boho chic as much as braids so a fishtail plait would look great especially with a head chain.

Not 100% what the fantasy is for Russell, it changes so often. Maybe a yoga retreat? Accompanied by a romantic whirlwind getaway to Thailand and Bali? Or India? Or even a rom-com style making of food in his apartment where we both end up a mess and laughing. Although it would have to be vegan... I need to go work out the holes in this scenario because I'm not feeling a raw lifestyle.

Forever making all our followers cringe,
-Charlotte
(Mrs Brand)
I'm nearly 17 it can be excused, teenagers are supposed to harbour cringey boy fantasies.

Shirt: eBay, Kimono eBay, Choker: Ali Express, Leggings: River Island, Boots: Monki

So me and Charlotte are fast becoming bargain queens through our sheer refusal to pay full price for clothes. I layered this white shirt with a black sheer kimono and pulled out my River Island pinstripe leggings which I love. They remind me of the baseball scene in the first Twilight film although they seem to have stretched out in the wash, making me look more wrinkly than a Shar pei puppy, extremely annoying but what can you do?

I added my cleated Monki boots for some much needed height, I'm currently training myself to walk in heels regularly as I'm only five foot, I know it's probably not medically advisable...

My favourite part of this look is this choker. If my memory serves me correctly it was £1.25 with free shipping off AliExpress! Yes it's a little cheap looking and a pitiful dupe of the one worn by Kim Kardashian but it's definitely a statement piece which I have found myself reaching for more often than expected.

I haven't done a smokey eye in a while so I used tease and snakebite from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I can't wait to get my hair done next week, as you can probably see, my roots have been very neglected lately! I'm thinking of going for a darker, strawberry blonde as I've always wanted to go red, I might just chicken out and stay blonde so stay tuned to find out!

Top: Topshop, Disco Pants: AA, Coat: River Island, Creepers: Underground X Urban Outfitters, Necklace: Nasty Gal, Bag: 'Borrowed' off my Mum

It seems that I pull fashion inspiration from the weirdest places. I've recently discovered my new favourite show, "Freak Show" and with it I've rediscovered my love for the weird and creepy. I'll admit the shows not for everyone, two headed baby in a jar or a man putting a meat hook through his nose anyone? But I really do love it, in fact I'm currently nurturing a secret desire to become a sword swallower.... Also, my FAVOURITE book for a long time was Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children which features a Victorian photograph of two young children dressed up as clowns and I just wanted to pretend to be that today.

Okay so maybe it's weird to want to dress like a Victorian sad clown child but my rediscovery of passion for the creepy and macabre has filtered into my wardrobe. We've spoke about AHS on here before and I even did an OOTD inspired by season three, so maybe this can be my season four inspired outfit?

This top I picked up for New Years Eve and haven't worn it since (I know! Need to stop buying things) and I decided that it was very circus and carnival like. I've had my disco pants for about 4 years now and thought I'd pull them on as it had been a while. Of course I had to begrudgingly throw the coat back on as it has gone cold again and obviously this mesh tshirt isn't the warmest. My shoes are the brogue creepers that were brought out in Underground and Urban Outfitters collab, I've been told that they look like clown shoes so I thought they'd be perfect to compliment this clown look.
For makeup I used Makeup Geek's Insomnia which is basically MAC's blue brown as it matches the duo chrome of the sequins and I drew a triangle of glitter under my eye to look like a traditional Harlequin clown or to look like glitter tears. Whichever floats your boat. Oh and yes, I wore this ensemble in my volunteering shift at Oxfam, they are used to it by now!

Sad clown child forever,
-Charlotte
P.S. Here's the photo I was inspired by, if you're scared of clowns maybe look away now....
I KNOW I'M SUPER WEIRD.

Shorts: Vintage, Jumper: Vintage, Vest: All Saints, Sunglasses: Forever 21, Watch: Casio, Backpack: Vintage ,Skate shoes: TopshopHere are the details of yesterday's outfit, I had been desperate to wear these shorts which I bought off a seller on Depop, me and Charlotte are both completely addicted to Depop (Swap anyone?) Plus I love all things motorcycle related so I just had to have these! We both love summer especially long evening walks and being able to sit in the park for hours just relaxing.Another great thing about this time of year is that season two of Hannibal is now underway on NBC. Can we just stop and take a second to appreciate the bearded wonder that is, Will Graham (Hugh Dancy)
These forever 21 tinted aviators have also made an appearance this week with the sun being out everyday, although it is starting to cool down now. We did manage to squeeze in one BBQ though…

Vest: Topshop Bandeau: New Look Shorts: Vintage Harley Davidson Cycling shorts: Topshop Boots: Topshop Necklace: Aliexpress Sunglasses: Forever 21 Watch: Casio

Summer seems to have finally arrived and that calls for a BBQ. Charlotte and I had a really good night and intended to take photos of the food to post, however it looked a bit burnt and rather unappealing, although it still tasted great!

I made the most of the heat with this grunge inspired outfit as I was desperate to wear my new shorts. I did try wearing them without the cycling shorts and lets just say, they brought about unwanted attention, ahem.

I was really jealous of Charlotte's bronze smokey eye and winged liner which was on point I must say, the heat always makes me really lazy when it comes to makeup so I find myself reaching for bright lipsticks more often. Last night I decided to dig out MAC Pink Nouveau after seeing Desi Perkins makeup tutorial.

Hope you're all loving the heat!
