Adventures with G & C

We have all experienced that feeling where you invest in a Topshop piece, only to go out and find that every other girl you pass on the street is wearing that exact same thing. For this reason me and Charlotte have recently found ourselves disillusioned with high street stores and decided to explore the range of small businesses in our area.

We occasionally wandered into Traders Outlet, a local store with different sections selling various jewellery, vintage furniture, handmade bath bombs ect but up until now we hadn't realised that there were also some fashion stalls such as Lady e bling, with cool pieces, much cheaper than you would find on the high street.

Charlotte is wearing a black oversized quilted shift dress with a kind of snake texture to it whilst I am wearing this white pleather cami dress. Both dresses comply with our usual styling comfort zones of black, white and leather so all in all a pretty good find!

We definitely recommend checking out the Lady e bling stall inside Traders Outlet to anyone in the Manchester area!

Top: Forever 21, Jacket: River Island, Sunglasses: Forever 21, Jeans: Topshop, Boots: Topshop, Necklaces: Zara and vintage, Bag: Vintage

What is it about trying to take a few blog photographs that is so difficult? Well for one there is lighting and the realization that your outfit is either too basic or horrifically unflattering. Then amongst a range of other technical issues there is the large problem that is the general public.

I could try and disguise our mishaps in order to appear professional, however that's not the kind of girls we are so I will admit that en-route to our location, we recieved a multitude of heckles from passing vans. I mean really, yes we have a camera, we are in fact taking photographs, that is generally the use for which people purchase a camera?

Anyway... rant over with, I decided to go with a summery outfit despite still including the staple black and grey. I'm really into layering necklaces at the moment and so I stacked this Zara one over a vintage, handmade shark tooth necklace which my great grandad brought back from Africa.
The sunglasses make me look like a fly or possibly an 80's police officer but I felt that they went well with the outfit. Let us know what your frustrations are when creating blog content!

Dress: Handmade, Boots: Matalan? Shirt: New look, Necklace: Miss Selfridge, Bag: Cynthia Rowley, Watch: Ali express, Bralet: H&M

I have never been good at sewing, maybe it's because I always attempt something ridiculously complicated *throwback to the 3D structured telephone bag which now lies half stitched in my wardrobe* However, I had been looking for a casual summer dress for hot days so I decided to attack a Primark maxi skirt with a pair of nail scissors and ended up with this dress which I knotted at the back. Whilst my sewing is very amateur I feel like the rough edges work well over this caged back bralet from H&M and give the look a grunge feel.

The Miss Selfridge chain collar was overdue for a rotation in the cycle of statement necklaces adds bit of drama. I tied a shirt round my waist because you never know what the weather will do!
Finally I resurrected these extremely battered boots from Matalan which have practically no soles left and plenty of holes but they are the comfiest shoes I own so worth looking rocking the whole homeless-chic look for.

I have seen a lot of blogger bucket lists of action packed summers, yet in all honestly my greatest achievement has been mastering the Sims 2 open for business expansion pack and finishing The killing series four in 48 hours... I love doing nothing :)

Hope you're enjoying a relaxed summer x

Shirt: Primark, Necklace: Topshop, Shorts: H&M, Shoes: Topshop, Sunglasses: Forever 21

Summer is here again and that means a renewed obsession with Lana del rey and all of her Lolita fueled palm tree inspiration once again translates into our wardrobes. I paired this vintage palm tree inspired shirt with leather look runner shorts to add a bit of contrast as even in summer there has to be some form of leather look item in most outfits.

My white collar necklace is from Topshop and goes with pretty much everything, a piece I'm loving at the moment.
My over sized cat-eye sunglasses are from forever 21 and match the vintage 50's feel of the shirt. Finally I slipped on my Topshop croc effect skate shoes with no socks! If any of you own these skate shoes you will know that this was a brave move, however I did end up borrowing a pair of Charlotte's socks to walk home in...

Also as a side note I am wearing a few wefts of my new clip in extensions from Luxury for princess  which I bought mainly to add volume to my hair. I am so impressed with the softness and quality of the extensions and would really recommend them to anyone considering buying some!

Top: Boohoo, Jeans: Topshop, Shoes: Topshop, Sunglasses: Forever 21, Collar: Topshop, Ring: An obscure Welsh gift shop...

It's that time of year when Uni fever sets in, everyone starts to panic about where their future will take them and as a result, me and Charlotte have been on a series of mini road trips around the UK. We are both considering studying media communications and so fingers crossed that results day doesn't hold any nasty surprises... To keep it casual and comfy for the journey to Leeds, I opted for the basics of a white V neck tee and my blue Leigh jeans from Topshop.

Controversially, this outfit contains only minimal amounts of black. This is the extent of my commitment to the Summer season we usually just stay inside and watch films. 'The Shining' is our latest obsession... Have you read the conspiracy theories? Let's just say that we may well have spent too much time pondering on these strange coincidences over the last couple of days.

Also on the topic of comfort I realised last minute that it would be impossible to walk around all day in the mini torture chambers that are the Topshop skate shoes. Whilst I love the look of them I made the sensible choice to switch to my trusted Aphrodite boots before we set off.

Hope you're enjoying the British summer and please excuse the eyeliner swatch and fly-aways from my top knot. I have curly baby hairs that won't quit!

Shorts: Vintage, Jumper: Vintage, Vest: All Saints, Sunglasses: Forever 21, Watch: Casio, Backpack: Vintage ,Skate shoes: TopshopHere are the details of yesterday's outfit, I had been desperate to wear these shorts which I bought off a seller on Depop, me and Charlotte are both completely addicted to Depop (Swap anyone?) Plus I love all things motorcycle related so I just had to have these! We both love summer especially long evening walks and being able to sit in the park for hours just relaxing.Another great thing about this time of year is that season two of Hannibal is now underway on NBC. Can we just stop and take a second to appreciate the bearded wonder that is, Will Graham (Hugh Dancy)
These forever 21 tinted aviators have also made an appearance this week with the sun being out everyday, although it is starting to cool down now. We did manage to squeeze in one BBQ though…
