Look what arrived! I am in LOVE. The packaging is to die for, the bubbles you see are 3D and the metallic blue is so reflective in real life.
So the shades I have are Extra Dimension Aphrodites Shell and Refined Golden Bronzer. Refined Golden is much deeper and more orange in tone, this might sound scary but it works amazing for faking a tan as a real tan tends to be reddy orange. It also has a gold shimmer to add glow, this product looks amazing on the tops of cheekbones. Worth mentioning that the mirror is really great in this compact.
Aphrodites Shell is slightly lighter and gives a perfect amount of warmth to the face. As you can see it has a beautiful pattern on top which makes no difference to the product but is a nice addition.
Both of these products are beautifully creamy and blend like a dream. Probably not necessary to have both but I regret nothing. They're GORGINA. If you were umming and arring let me just convince you to buy.
Buy them.

We're both obsessed with the beach and anything water related or tropical. (I mean look at the banner). When we saw that this collection had dropped, Grace ran round with debit card in hand and we both HAD to make a purchase... or two... If we're being honest the purchases we made were 100% swayed by the jaw dropping packaging. Those water droplets you see are not a stylistic choice for the photo shoot but are actually on the packaging! Also, the aqua metallic colour absolutely screams summer. This packaging is probably the best we have ever seen MAC produce and the whole collection is truly gorgeous in terms of the actual products inside. Some bits have already sold out online such as the lipsticks but it will of course be in store soon if you missed out, we recommend ringing up your local counter and asking when it'll be in. We've done this many a time and although you might be on hold for a while followed by an awkward interaction it is worth it so that you don't miss out!

Keep an eye out for reviews and swatches when Mr Postman drops off our goodies!

At 5:45 (I know!) on Friday morning, we awoke to get ready for an action packed day in the capital. Despite the early start we were super excited to be exploring a new city on our own and boarded the train without a hitch. Doing winged eyeliner on a train is not easy as we found out, especially with some unfortunate child throwing up in the row in front.

Being the cheap and cheerful duo that we are, we decided to spend as little money as possible on things such as food and transport, in order to buy more makeup. Makes sense right? It was for this reason that I spent the entire day carting around a Malteasers Easter egg in a carrier bag, definitely not as good as Cadburys but we struggled on. Our thrify nature, or just our irresponsible financial priorities also meant that we refused to pay for the tube like sensible tourists and so we ended up walking a grand total of 11 miles.

We were well and truly exhausted after visiting Covent Garden, Oxford street, China town and Picadilly circus as well as some other areas we stumbled upon when lost but hey, at least we burnt off that Easter egg.

We made three main discoveries whilst in London. Number one, why did no one tell us about five guys fries! (The biology 'test for fat' lesson comes back to us...) Number two, Christina Perri thousand years is a very good song to sing on the train at 11PM. Finally the third discovery, we learnt to avoid strange men in metallic paint after being chased by a supposed 'living statue' through Covent Garden... yes, screaming.

Stay tuned to see what we bought on our travels!

First off, apologies for mirror pics we don't have access to my camera atm. Had to share my obsession that is this Zara dress that every fashion blogger owns. I just had to track it down I think if I had to show one clothing item that summed up my personality it would be this.
I also added a dot on my lower lash line to add to the cartoony look as seen in an Anna Sui show a while ago and on Lianne La Havas. Might be a bit scary but give it a go! Surprising flattering and super cute.
Between the hair, my makeup and this dress I'm definitely pretending to be a Japanese model living it up in Tokyo. Oh how I can dream.

Oh Orange Wednesdays; how we love you. No but for real, £7 for a ticket? Are you crasszy? Regardless of the over priced tickets, the cinema is definitely one of our favourite places to go and because film is one of our main hobbies we're starting something new - Exploring Cinema!!

So this week we went to go and see Divergent. If we're being honest it was because there was nothing else interesting on and hey maybe all the YouTube sponsored videos go into our subconscious but we actually liked it!

Shailene Woodley plays the protagonist, Tris. Her performance was very good, we'd never heard of her before this role but I think we were both pleasantly surprised. Shailene came across as strong and a realistic and beliavable character. She definitely outshone her on-screen brother Ansel Elgort who just seemed dead behind the eyes! (Apologies to any Ansel fans but he just wasn't cutting it!) We found his acting very unconvincing and instead, we were transfixed only by his voluminous hair... Theo James was the token eye candy of the film playing Four, not much to say really! Gave the audience unrealistic expectations of relationships and broke up the 2 and a half hour marathon with his muscle shots, this is all cool with us. A surprising disappointment was Kate Winslet. For a villain she just wasn't intimidating or scary, kind of like that auntie everyone has, who tries to intimidate you but you don't care? Just us?
Well anyway, she just wasn't making us feel any fear. Perhaps boredom though. We would have liked to see her get a little bit more nasty or aggressive rather than trying to keep this calm approach that was supposed to be unnerving but just.. wasn't.

We don't want to give too much away and IMDb just has a way with words so here's the loose plot outline: In a world divided by factions based on virtues, Tris learns she's Divergent and won't fit in. When she discovers a plot to destroy Divergents, Tris and the mysterious Four must find out what makes Divergents dangerous before it's too late. Let's just say at this point we haven't read the books so we had no expectations going in. The plot is interesting, definitely reminiscent of the Hunger Games with the dystopian future, one girl will change everything (potentially).

Here's where it goes wrong for me. The factions would account for like 40% of the population at a push, I mean look at them:

  • Abnegation (The Selfless)
  • Erudite (The Intelligent)
  • Dauntless (The Brave)
  • Amity (The Peaceful)
  • Candor (The Honest)
I can think of maybe four people who I could categorise into these very limited groups and almost everyone would want to be in Dauntless! Also, why didn't they rebuild the derelict buildings if it's a high functioning, futuristic society? The film was entertaining, albeit a little too long but they really did not develop the characters or parts of the plot. As our friend Tom put it: "From that film I can only remember Tris's name. They didn't really develop any of her friends or anything." What was the war they kept talking about? What caused it? Who was fighting? Why did only Chicago survive?

KIND OF SPOILER WARNING MAYBE SCROLL DOWN FOR THE POINT SYSTEM

The scenes of the infiltration of the Abnegation's homes were unnerving for us. Maybe it's because we studied history but there were some undeniable parallels with invasions and particularly the atrocities of World War two. The genocide of the innocent Abnegations was more than a little uncomfortable to say the least and whilst effectively acted, may leave audiences a bit shaken.

END OF SPOILERS

Overall, it was good. Definitely worth a watch if you want to go to the cinema and there's nothing much on. The plot had potential and was relatively explored but we were just left wanting more! Shaileene Woodley's performance made up for it though.
We'd give it a:
6.75/10 (Grace said 6.5, Charlotte said 7)

The long awaited Easter holidays have finally arrived, although they are apparently supposed to be consumed by endless hours of revision. However, me and Charlotte have been relaxing, and cramming in as many films as is humanely possible into this much needed break whilst still attempting to stay on top of our studies.
I bought these white Joni jeans with my birthday money a couple of weeks ago, they remind me of Lana del Rey video in combination with these over sized cat eye sunglasses from forever 21.

I paired them with a basic Topshop cropped tee because its nearly impossible to go wrong with black and white. The Topshop skate shoes... so beautiful and yet so painful! Both me and Charlotte bought a pair of these shoes and ended up carrying them in our hand as we walked in threadbare socks down the road like some 80's nostalgic film scene. However I remain optimistic as I want to believe that these are being broken in, my feet no longer bleed after 20 minutes of wear if that's anything to go by...

Hope your all enjoying the holidays xx

Where has the sun gone?!? As soon as it arrived it's gone again. Anyway I'll shut up about the weather - very British of me! I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm not a neat person by any means and this extends to my wardrobe. While digging for a t-shirt to wear for the gym I stumbled upon an old favourite of mine I'd completely forgot about. I'm an open lover of cats but I think this crop top is a different take on it; more like a piercing panther than a domestic kitten. I like the length as well, boxy but not unflattering and not too short. Unfortunately the material creases like crazy!

I featured these joggers in our haul over on YouTube and I wasn't even sure on them at first but I HAVE WORN THEM NONE STOP. They're flattering and so comfortable - like pyjamas! I'm obsessed with anything with a moon on so I had to grab this necklace when Shop Dixi were having 50% off. Loving these House of Holland-esque sunglasses as well, only a fiver!

Hope you're all okay!
