I know that the American Apparel Tennis Skirt has been springing up everywhere and I wanted to give one a go without spendng £60 odd pounds. I know its crazy short but rest assured I have shorts on underneath! I like the Lolita aesthetic of it, honestly it's just weird how that book can inspire my life decisions. Guess that probably says a lot about me!
I am aware that fakes are super controversial so I'll just gloss over this replica Commes Des Garcons long sleeve tshirt. I love it and practically live in it, I'm not in a position to spend over £100 on the real designer ones - maybe one day! Kinda living for the contrast between my hair, navy and this dark lip - I loveeeeeeeeeee Autumn.
So I broke my 'no spending until December' ban immediately when I saw this necklace on sale in Topshop. Do I own a ridiculous amount of statement necklaces? Yes, so many that I had to put up extra hooks in my room because my jewellery tree literally bent out of shape. I justified this one because it's longer than my others and I guess it kind of works as a body chain.
I really like this tee shirt from Romwe with the anatomy design and it adds a bit of something to another black and grey outfit and I decided to wear these PVC pants I bought off Depop. (You don't need to hear my rant about Depop...) This I soon realised, was a catastrophic mistake for three reasons...
1) They are of a very low quality, questionably branded and feel like they are lined with straw. They also squeak loudly as you walk.
2) What is it about the material PVC and weirdos. I feel like everytime I put on a pair of trousers that don't have a matte finish, I recieve some form of heckle or cat call. Charlotte even told me that once she was on the Met and a man said "you can tell a slut when they're wearing PVC pants." What is the world coming to? IT'S A PAIR OF PANTS, SIT THE F DOWN.
3) From reason one you can get a sense of the pants' quality and this, combined the fact that they have very little flexibility resulted in an embarrasing incident in HMV. When going up the stairs to browse Vinyl and alternative records like a pretentious indie cool kid, I heard a loud rip and realised to my horror that my pants had ripped pretty much in half up the back. Luckily as I am a pygmy, my tee shirt was long enough to protect my dignity but I can safely say that these pants will see the light of day ever again.
I think we all can laugh at how sarcastic the title is!
One of our favourite winter evening activities is going to a local pub to eat and catch up. We both got the chicken burger which was amazing - pub chips are for sure the best in the world. To top off this super healthy main we had the marshmallow brownie which was equally as heart attack inducing and delicious.
The evenings are getting longer and darker and with it the promise of Halloween and Christmas draws closer. This time of year will forever be our favourite. We love doing little activities like this that make the weekends count while still being quiet and enjoyable. The meal was also very inexpensive - under £20 for everything!
I hope you're all well. Just as a side note, what are your favourite Halloween films?
Hope you're all as excited for Halloween as we are, the film marathon season has begun with the Addams Family as we tend to start tame before moving up to more disturbing titles like 'The Silence of the Lambs.'
We've decided to switch up the formatting of our blog a bit and include a bit more lifestyle content. As the weather grows colder we've been addicted to our snoods that we got from Primark last winter, literally sleeping in them... Charlotte bought a vinyl player and so we have been discovering old favourites such as 'Dirty Diana' and unashamedly harmonizing to 'Man in the Mirror' sat on her bed. Now, of course I too want a vinyl player, it's nice to be able to listen to an album all the way through and appreciate it as a whole piece of work rather than constantly skipping songs and artists.
Charlotte set up a film club for the media students and so we decided to bake some cakes to entice in members. Our last baking attempt was undeniably disastrous as we discovered that salted caramel can actually be too salty, as in could cause severe dehydration and kill all the garden slugs. We were aiming for the caramel core found in our favourite ice cream - Ben and Jerry's Blondie Brownie. This batch of chocolate smarties cupcakes were surprisingly good.
We've also been discovering how convenient public transport can be and got the bus to TK Maxx, where we picked up journals to start scrapbooks in. The journals are a really cute way to preserve the memories of the last few years before we head off to Uni.
Finally, my new camera arrived and I have been experimenting with the different features, such as the motion photo which is very nice indeed, so expect more vlogs and fashion videos to appear on our YouTube channel. Get excited for Halloween people, it's fast approaching!

Ahh another all black ensemble. These PVC pants are such a polarising item, I love them but I know a lot of people hate them, on a night out one charming gentleman even called me a rather rude name for wearing them. I love them because they remind me of the suit from American Horror Story season 1, is that weird? I picked up the t-shirt when we went to go see them live (vlog on our Youtube if you missed it- link to the right), the design gives a really cool aesthetic. I think this outfit is a little bit goth, a little bit weird and a whole lotta good.
I'm not sure how many of our new followers will know but we do have a YouTube channel. As a MASSIVE 1975 fan (with a tattoo dedicated to them) it was the best night of my life. They were amazing live and were even more adorable and lovely in person. We filmed a GRWM of some seriously smokey makeup, an adventure with eye drops and OOTD's as well as concert footage with photos of meeting the boys.
I decided to share some of the Polyvores I've been making like crazy. I think I just like looking at Commes Des Garcons and Acne pieces I'm never going to be able to afford. :(
First off, apologies for the aggressive pout - I'm actually squinting at the sun in my eyes! I actually really loved this outfit. I decided to pull this midi out of my wardrobe that had been restricted to nights out to bring a bit of sparkle to the everyday, I love the midi shape. It's cool and effortless yet put together plus it's super comfy to wear. I have somehow collected a multitude of baseball tees and I have no idea why! This fairly new one from ASOS could be my new fav because it's playful yet still monochrome.
I am LIVING for this leather jacket! Grace and I decided to customise a jacket each inspired by the jacket Alex wore in the One For The Road video. I think it's the only DIY project I've ever attempted that has not only succeeded but that I've actually worked into my wardrobe - it came out a lot better than I expected! I decided to rock a dark lip as I'm already so excited for Autumn/Winter, the one I'm wearing here is Vino pencil by MAC.
Summer is beginning to draw to a close and me and Charlotte have been eagerly awaiting this change of season. What's not to love about Autumn/Winter? Halloween, bonfire night, Christmas films, cranberry smokey eyes and dark lips... the list goes on!
So inspired by the dropping temperature I decided to experiment with layering outerwear pieces in neutral shades to switch up my usual leather jacket option. This textured cocoon biker coat was from Topshop a while back and adds sophistication to any look and to be honest this outfit needed just a touch to pull back from being full on Taylor Momsen...
My top is a UNIF dupe from Aliexpress.com, really worth a trawl through for bargains as my necklaces are both from the same site and were unbelievably inexpensive. I am wearing a Primark black bodycon skirt underneath the vest by the way, my mother asked the same question.
